As a teacher for this district, I know that our students deserve more support. Instead of cutting student programs and laying off the most vulnerable employees in OUSD, the School Board needs to get serious about restructuring central administration, reduce consulting costs, actually work on behalf of public education - not charters. If you stop wasting so much money on new adoptions every year and actually financially support our schools, Oakland Public Schools will be sort after institutions

I am a teacher at Lincoln elementary, and know that our students need more support through resources, intervention, and special ed programs. The district needs to prioritize this student support in her annual budget, instead of administrative costs and consultants. His is wrong and unfair to our kids. This misappropriation of district funds is unacceptable and unjust. Let’s put our money where our hearts are, for our kids!

As a former teacher at New Highland Academy and a mom, I know first hand that our students deserve and need more support, not less. Rather than cutting student program and laying of the most vulnerable employees in OUSD, the School Board needs to get serious about restructuring central administration, get a handle on growing consulting costs, and stop hiding needed funds in books and supplies.

As a school nurse at Oakland Tech, I know first hand that our students deserve more support, not less. Instead of cutting student programs and laying off the most vulnerable employees in OUSD, the School Board needs to finally get serious about restructuring central administration, get a handle on growing consulting costs, stop paying exorbitant rent on 1000 Broadway which is mostly empty and stop hiding needed funds in books and supplies.

I am a teacher in the district and I am very frustrated to hear that because of the contract gains, that there will be cuts to classified staff. The district has made many irresponsible financial decisions over many years. It is not okay to blame the teachers for district malfeasance. We don't make the decisions, yet we ultimately pay the price for the ivory tower of administrators that have made terrible decisions.

Please explain the "Pending Funding" column in regards to the following positions: Library Clerk, Senior Library Clerk, and Library Technician. Can you explain if sites (eligible with 85% or higher LCFF) will be able to offer these reduced FTE library positions (in alignment with the Guidelines) to retain current library staff at their sites or if the bumping process will force staff to other sites or layoff?
