Please vote yes on the Reparations for Black Students resolution. Black families have been deeply impacted by decades of disinvestment. This measure would be a first step in prioritizing equity for students and families.

I support the Reparations for Black Students resolution. We must directly address the long term disparities in resources, access, and outcomes for Black students. We must look at and address the ways bias plays out in the classroom and in our schools. This will make our schools more equitable and ultimately better for all of our students.

Please VOTE YES on the Reparations for Black Students Resolution - to repair the harm caused by decades of disinvestment - and to reinvest in Black students, families, schools, and staff in OUSD. As the daughter of WWII US Concentration Camp Japanese Americans who received reparations due to their time in a concentration camp, this after the civil rights unrest and movement of the 60’s. Also as a veteran of the SFSU strike for Ethnic Studies, ethnic studies for Black, Brown and indigenous communities should be part of the OUSD curriculum.
