Hello, I am an educator of 18 years' experience and I am fully in support of Aspire ERES Academy. Any school that provides a new paradigm of education for students who have too often been forgotten is a good choice.

Aspire Eres is a high-quality school with a track record of success for creating excellent outcomes and college going opportunities for some of our most under-served students in Oakland. They have demonstrated excellent instructional practices, teacher development, family partnerships, and student-centered school leadership - all quality school indicators that we should be working to grow for more students. All families deserve the best educational opportunities for their children and so we should be working to expand high quality schools and not curtail them. It would be tragic for the families of Aspire ERES and for the city of Oakland if a high-quality school serving a high needs community was forced to close.

Aspire ERES deserves the opportunity to continue providing a high-quality education for scholars in Oakland. ERES is a high performing Oakland elementary school. Students, Families, and Teachers LOVE the community ERES provides. They've worked hard over 10 years to secure a better, safer, & larger campus. Every step of the way OUSD has put politics in front of student interests. Is this fair for Oakland children? OUSD has the power and authority to approve a request to support the number of students that ERES can enroll. Students deserve safe places to learn and families deserve access to high-quality school options in their communities.

ERES was my first stop in my journey toward becoming a teacher. ERES is a school that nurtures children and trains teachers. OUSD is accountable for serving all students and providing quality public school options in every neighborhood in Oakland.

I write in support of Aspire ERES Academy's application for a material revision. ERES is a community school that deserves the opportunity to continue providing a high-quality education for scholars in Oakland. OUSD should support all public schools that are delivering for public school children, regardless of whether they are district or charter.

OUSD is accountable for serving all students and providing quality public school options in every neighborhood in Oakland. That is its charge and responsibility. Stop taking away quality schools that have been working for ERES families, especially during a pandemic. Kids need stability and quality school options!

The teachers, staff, and administration of Aspire ERES care deeply about and work tirelessly for the Oakland community--they deserve to not only be allowed to continue to do that but to have a facility that can support more scholars. OUSD is accountable for serving all students and providing quality public school options in every neighborhood in Oakland, including the Fruitvale community which Aspire ERES is proud to be a part of. Aspire ERES deserves to be able to continue to be a high-quality public school option for students in Oakland.

I strongly support the proposal to increase attendance at the ERES Aspire School within the Oakland school district. As a proud employee of Aspire public schools in my community, I know my colleagues in Oakland work tirelessly everyday to provide quality education opportunities for those families in their communities. I believe every family should be afforded the opportunity to choose the best educational setting for their particular student. Often times, our schools provide a more personalized environment than some public schools. Ultimately, I believe there is power in choice and allowing families to have the option of choosing the best setting for their students elevates every school's performance and when that happens the beneficiaries are children and families.

Aspire ERES is an outstanding school serving a high needs population in the Fruitvale neighborhood. After a decade of facility insecurity, I urge the OUSD board of education to approve their petition to serve more students and achieve a sustainable enrollment size. I can't imagine the cost to families who would have to be displaced during a pandemic from a school that wraps around their students and families and is one of the highest achieving in the area. Keep ERES open through approving this enrollment increase. Access to high quality schools is what matters to Oakland parents!

I have been involved with Aspire Public Schools as the parent of a student that attended from Kindergarten through 12th grade and as an employee of Aspire for 11 years. In this time Aspire Public Schools has been a responsible partner of the School Districts that it has worked along side. My hope is that ERES will be given the opportunity to show the same collaboration with OUSD for the community it serves.
Kids deserve safe places to learn and families deserve access to high-quality school options in their communities.
    Thank you for your consideration.

I've been working at Aspire Public Schools for the last twenty years. Our schools have always worked in partnership with our districts. It is my hope and dream that Charters can continue to operate and partner with traditional public schools. We are in this work together to serve students and families. I encourage to center any decision making around our sister school ERES with a students and families first lens.
Aspire ERES deserves the opportunity to continue providing a high-quality education for scholars in Oakland.
OUSD has the power and authority to approve a request to support the number of students that ERES can enroll.
Kids deserve safe places to learn and families deserve access to high-quality school options in their communities.
I appreciate your consideration and know our students and families do as well. In Partnership, Laura

Hi, writing in big support of allowing the growth of this beautiful little school to happen naturally, as it seems it wants and needs to do. I know from my position in another school that the system at ERES is well-tuned and addressing the socioeconomic problems that are obstacles for many of our Oakland children- I don't know a lot about numbers and budgets and OUSD needs, but it's hard to fathom that the district would allow such a school to grind to a halt. Again, our students have so many obstacles; please don't throw another one up that will be insurmountable.

Please support Aspire Eres Academy - they have demonstrated strong standing in the community, continuity of academic results, and demonstrated need to serve more students. Aspire is a long standing charter organization that has proven results, strong college access data, and has impacted the education landscape in Oakland.
