This report demonstrates, once again, that while OUSD staff were aware of YAP students, they neglected to provide YAP with the same communication as other secondary schools. Meanwhile: where is the followup on two issues raised in earlier commission meetings: communications with Ophelia Gomez who was head of YAP when parcel tax funding for Linked Learning first came into the district, and whether a legal opinion was rendered internally respecting YAP’s eligibility for the funding? Moreover, there is no examination of communication of YAP about the application process for funding in 2023, when OUSD gave YAP a district school site code. How long will it take for this Commission to provide for current students who have never had the benefit of these funds, some of whom will leave the district this year?
