L.-81 24-2844 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Services Agreement 2024-2025 by and between the District and Oakland Serves, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide in-school mentoring to high school students most at risk of dropping out or not progressing toward graduation; provide mentors for CAR's school day academic recovery courses at Castlemont, Fremont & McClymonds, CAR Online Academic Recovery (COAR) & Summer Healing and Academics (HAcK); provide Summer HAcK for 9th & 10th grade credit recovery; provide the CAR team with 8-10 mentors for the 2025 program for a total of approximately 180 hours of in-class tutorial support each semester covering Castlemont, Fremont, McClymond, CAR Online Academic Recovery (COAR) & Summer Healing and Academics (HAcK); provide Summer HAcK as a central option for 9th & 10th grade credit recovery; provide the CAR team with 8-10 mentors for the 2025 program for a total of approximately 180 hours of in-class tutorial support each semester covering Castlemont, Fremont, McClymonds; may provide mentors for COAR; partner Mentors with classroom teachers to identify one or more students as needed for mentors to work with in a group learning setting, in some instances 1:1 mentor matching can happen; provide Mentors for assistance with classwork, facilitate small learning groups, organization and executive functioning skills, improving attendance, listening when a student needs to feel heard, etc., provide Mentors to facilitate executive functioning skills, improving attendance, listening when a student needs to feel heard, etc., via OPSR Counseling Department, for the period of November 4, 2024 through June 30, 2025, in an amount not to exceed $7,500.00.
