With that said, I'm interested in what options there are to expand inclusive preschools such as Burbank or the expansion at the former Kaiser school. Many families leave Oakland before prek, What a great way to keep families and kids in Oakland. These inclusive prek are unique to OUSD and can reduce restrictive special education placements as the student ages. My son's experience was transformative at Burbank and has allowed him to thrive in a general education classroom! Please expand to other regional hubs as described at previous board meetings! Additionally due to the pandemic many toddlers/prek kids did not receive early intervention for these 2 years of the COVID era. This means students who may need more intensive services once they transition out of early childhood programs. Thank you!
