I am incredibly against the mask mandates for children. You have not cited any clear evidence of their effectiveness for prevention of transmission nor the need for them to prevent serious illness in people who have been vaccinated. Can you please provide the scientific studies (not the rhetoric, but the actual studies) that the decision to make masks mandatory in schools was based on. Also, can you advise what research was done by the district into the impact of masking on children's mental and emotional development prior to putting the mandate in effect. If the teachers are all eligible for vaccination and vaccines are readily available, making Covid 19 basically a cold or a bad flu for them if vaccinated, what are we protecting against? What is the end game? At what point do we stop masking? Is this the new permanent school environment?
