Directors, the public is waiting for our school board representatives to show courage and leadership in a difficult time. However, by moving our public meetings to zoom you are showing us that you are not interested in our participation or voice. This is something we urgently need to change in OUSD. The message and optics of moving to zoom due to the pandemic, when our students are being told to show up to school every day during a surge, is unconscionable. We cannot rely on half measures, we need bold leadership now. Hiding from the public sends a very harmful message to all.

Parents, please approve the immediate resignation of Donnie Barclift, Field Supervisor, Nutrition Services. In the late 1980's Mr Barclift severely flogged two 11,12 year old boys with a lumber beam. One of those kids later died in 2009 from a drug overdose. This man is a scum bag child beater, not a "food hero". He sought employment with OUSD to be rewarded for his violent act against those kids and potentially other kids. He even featured last year on his youtube channel a man flogging another man unconscious (he later removed the video after warned by OUSD). Despite being informed about Mr Barclift, OUSD keeps Mr Barclift employed fulfilling his desire to make his K-12 victims pay him. Paramountly, protect your child from this man. Secondly, the decision for OUSD to keep employing this man is a symbol to every child victim of severe assault the employees OUSD seek and retain. "A former army cook from North Carolina" Also a lie. He's from Marines in San Diego.

Why are students attending in-person classes while OUSD Board Directors are holding meetings virtually? If it is not safe for the Board to meet in person why have you deemed it safe for students to be in class (with a much higher concentration of people I might add)?
