Our students depend on libraries to choose pleasure reading. Their motivation to read what is popular often exceeds their “level,” yet they work through challenges and are able to have rich book conversations.
Our tech teaches students aspects of library science during bi-monthly class visits. She is focused on earning her masters degree, making less than $20 an hour means she will be forced to look for work as a “real” librarian. Pay our librarians a living wage.
