I think that scheduling this meeting mid-morning the day after the ratification of the OEA contract is about as shady as public business gets. You are increasingly looking like a board of thieves. Also, Jumoke Hinton Hodge need to RESIGN at this meeting. She held a teacher by the throat. No teacher should ever do that to a student. No student should ever do that to a teacher. No BOE member should ever do that to a teacher. It's pretty clear. An apology is not sufficient. Resign.
I am opposed to this board meeting of OUSD and urge you to cancel it and reschedule. At this time, the Oakland Teachers Strike is still not settled. The teachers and community need a chance to give input on any budget cuts and the terms of the pending contract needs to be honored.
